Silver Springs Cottage Resort is located on the beautiful Elephant Lake. Shallow and fertile with over 22 miles of shoreline, taking up an area of 2100 acres and located 1,157 feet above sea level.
The Haliburton Highlands have an excellent deer, moose and bear population, making Silver Springs an excellent place for hunters. Anglers will also enjoy Elephant Lake itself, one of the best Muskie lakes in Ontario, not to forget an abundance of small mouth bass, largemouth bass, northern pike, trout and walleye, plus a wide variety of pan fish.
There is always something special going on in the Highlands. In the summer there are countless events to enjoy such as Art in the Park, The Haliburton Highland Games, Rock the Wake Wakeboarding Festival and the Haliburton School of the Arts – In the fall, visitors and residents alike participate in Studio Tour Weekends, Fall Fairs, Trails and Tours Trail Fest and The Haliburton International Film Festival – In the spring there is Maplefest and Timberfest – In the Winter there is The Haliburton Dogsled Races.
Silver Springs Cottage Resort is just 5km from Algonquin Park’s trails and is surrounded by 21 acres of forest for the hiker and all lovers of the great outdoors .Groomed trails for both skiing ,ATV enthusiasts and snowmobiling (just off TOP TRAIL E) are merely minutes away, as are horseback riding activities!
Any family will be sure to enjoy our safe, sandy beach for swimming or just lounging around. Bring your boat or rent one of ours! Our marina has motor boat rentals, canoes & paddle boats to help you explore this three lake chain of Elephant Lake, Benoir Lake & Baptiste Lake. Also enjoy canoe access to Algonquin Park. When you’re done, relax in our sauna or by the campfire!
